Who says the Internet can’t bring about great artistic collaborations between strangers? In this video, Aaron Anderson chronicles how he met trainer Payton Fearnside via Instagram, how their collaboration began, and how he achieved some great athletic portraits of his newest model.
“I get tired of seeing the same old gritty, harsh lighting for these fitness shoots,” says Anderson. Wanting to try different lighting techniques, his first priority was making her look great by pumping before the shoot. Shooting her on an inclined wall, he combined her definition with the geometric shapes of the interior.
Utilizing an Elinchrom 53” Octa above her, with an ELB 400 and an HS head connected. From the front, she was also lit with a 75” Litemotiv Indirect Octa behind the camera to define contours in the walls of the first shot.
