Jonas Hall

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I work and live in Gothenburg which is a very cozy and friendly city on the west coast of Sweden. Even though I have been interested in photography for a long time, my interest in lighting has grown exponentially lately. Today I focus mainly on portraits and product photography. When I’m not behind the camera I love traveling, CrossFit and of course spending time with my family of three.

What do I do to make sure I keep growing as a photographer?
I am always interested in trying new things and techniques often mixing the world of product and portrait photography to achieve the best possible lighting. I regularly watch Youtube videos which give me both knowledge and most of all inspiration to take new routes and explore new things.

Keep up to date with trends, get inspiration from photographers you follow and dare to try new things. My best images come from stepping outside the box. Having the right equipment is crucial to achieving your vision!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
We are husband-and-wife team based in South Wales UK with over a decade’s photography experience under our belts, we specialize in weddings in the UK and Italy, we have been using Elinchrom since we started, with kit available to cover two wedding on the same day and Canon cameras and lenses. We love the quality of all the Elinchrom kit as we know whatever the weather, we can bring beautiful light and create awesome images.

What do you do to make sure you keep growing as photographers? :
We know that we have to learn every day as wedding photographers, we never know how the day is going to plan out, we are strong believers in going on courses at least once or twice a year, for photography and all aspects of the business. We started our career with Brett Harkness Photography Training Courses and have now become good friends, we have stayed true to our style of lighting since day one. Style's are always changing and we have learned that with Elinchrom Lighting we can produce clean, crisp beautiful images every time. The biggest change over the recent months is to use the new Hi-Sync (HS) technology with the ELB's, this gives us three different styles at the same time with Sarah and I shooting. We can now give natural light, dramatic images with small apertures and also beautiful soft backgrounds with new Hi-Sync (HS) technology. You never stop learning!!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is John Sherringham, I’m a full-time Drama teacher at a secondary school in Surrey, UK. I am primarily a theatre and headshot photographer although I am moving towards fine art style portraits as my main focus. Although this is only part-time and therefore slow progress.

What do you do to make sure you keep growing as a photographer?
I find it so important to keep growing as a photographer and have been trying many things to do so. Most recently I gained my Licentiate with the NPS and this has inspired me to start building a new portfolio for my next qualification.

I also decided to join my local photography society; this has two benefits; the weekly meetings often have guest speakers on topics that I am less familiar with. Also, they have print and digital competitions throughout the year judged independently which are great for feedback. But the most effective way I have found to keep growing is inspiration from other photographers.

YouTube seems to have endless resources and some amazing photographers sharing the workflow and editing techniques. Taking these and making them your own is a great way of learning and I’ve organized a few shoots which I intend on taking what I’ve learned and put it into practice.
